Vallées de Merveilles - in the hills behind Nice.  This is real “Indiana Jones territory with amazing magic symbols from pre-historic times.  Best seen with a 4x4 Jeep (try here)

Grasse.  Centre of the world’s perfume industry. Go on a visit and see how perfume is made.

les des Lerins.  Islands in the bay. Take a boat from the harbour.  Ste Marguerite is a favourite. With its exotic vegetation of Eucalyptus and Pines. It was here that the Man in the Iron Mask was imprisoned (Read more here)

Italy.  Just  a short drive takes you to Italy.  Ventimilgia on Fridays has a huge market.  You can go by train or car.   When hiring a car check it can be taken to Italy as you may need to give notice.

Monaco. Another easy and popular day trip - You can go by car

Trophée des Alpes & Eze.  A Combined day trip.  A huge Roman ruin plus a lovely hilltop town close by.   Best by car although you can do this by bus..

The Corniches.  Magnificient roads starting at Nice and going past Monte-Carlo into Italy.
